Yesterday we had another great opportunity to meet hundreds of new Brides & Grooms face-to-face at the Bridal Bazaar. We’ve participated in the Bridal Bazaar for a few years now and it’s always interesting to see how other vendors (especially photographers) present themselves. We always try to put our best foot forward and give it 110% which is why we’re constantly updating the look and feel of our booth. We’ve had a few different displays and we decided it was time to bust out a new one for this show. We wanted the look to be modern, but not “weird” modern….if that makes sense. It’s actually kind of funny how a lot of other photographer’s booths look like they just threw up a bunch of photos they’ve been showing since the ’90’s. Their prints are all beat up and have definitely seen better days and there’s no rhyme or reason to the way they’ve laid out their booth. If that’s how they want to present themselves that’s totally fine, but we want to showcase quality and great taste and we met a lot of Brides & Grooms who appreciate the quality and style of photography we offer.
Anyway, a couple months ago we started looking to some of our favorite blogs and magazines for inspiration and tossing around some ideas about what we wanted our new design to look like. We messed around in Google Sketchup a bit, making one design and scrapping it….making another…scrapping another…then we landed on a design, fired up the power tools and jumped in! Here’s what we came up with and for those of you who saw us at the Bridal Bazaar we hope you liked it and we hope you’ll contact us soon to chat about photographing your wedding!

And here’s the final design we came up with in Google Sketchup. The end product was pretty much cut for cut, eh? I’m curious how many other photographers will jump out and download Google Sketchup now after seeing this, haha!

[…] Over the last several years we’ve really come to love and appreciate the beauty, quality, simplicity, complexity, creativity and just downright coolness of modern design, whether in architecture or otherwise. Attending Dwell On Design is always inspirational and is a great way to see a lot of new and innovative products and ideas. It’s funny because whenever we go to Dwell On Design it reminds us an awful lot of the trade shows we do for Zelo Photography (talking to people about our product or service, handing out info and getting that always important face time with potential customers). We’ve even tried to incorporate a modern vibe into our booth design, which you can see here. […]
