Some vendors dread doing bridal shows. It’s true, they’re a lot of work and it’s a long day, but we always look forward to our next bridal show because it gives us a chance to meet tons of brides & grooms. It also gives us a chance to make a great impression with the way our booth is displayed and we always get a lot of compliments on our booth. Some vendors just stick to the pipe and drape setup included with their booth and that’s fine for some people. We’ve always felt however, that if something is worth doing it’s worth doing well. With the exception of updating a few photos and albums we display in our booth, our booth has more or less stayed the same since we did our first Bridal Bazaar back in 2008. We came out with a booth we were proud of and it got us great results, but when other booths started to look a lot like ours we felt it was time to utilize our DIY skills and make a change.
Here’s a “before” photo of how our booth has looked at previous shows (and here’s a link to our blog entry from one of those shows):

When we decided to change up our booth, we threw around a lot of ideas and drew inspiration from several sources. In the end, we decided we really wanted to bring in some wood. We started brainstorming and sketched out some ideas but we couldn’t decide. We recently updated a wall in our house and we were really happy with the results, so when the wall in our home was accepted to be a featured “Before & After” project over at Design Sponge we knew we had found our winner! After that we transformed our garage into the Zelo Woodworking Shop and got cracking on the big project ahead of us.
There was a lot of measuring, cutting, sanding, drilling, test-fitting, soldering, staining and sweating involved. Fortunately we still have all our fingers! We built the table from scratch, cut and mounted each slat on the wall individually, built the illuminated sign from scratch and incorporated a “flush-mounting” frame to showcase our images. Everything worked out pretty much the way we wanted it to! Here’s a little video of the progress, followed by a few photos of our new booth at this past Sunday’s Bridal Bazaar:
We got a ton of compliments on our new modern booth and inquiries have already started coming in! Thank you to all the Brides & Grooms who stopped by our booth and chatted with us. It was awesome to hear the different thoughts and ideas so many of you already have for your weddings and we hope we can be a part of your big day!
Looks so awesome! Great job you two!
WOW!!! I wish I was handy. Love the design and admire your initiative and creativity… Beautiful booth!!!
Guys, the new booth looks AMAZING. You did an incredible job!
I like the before AND the after. So many folks try and cram as much stuff in their booths as possible. I’ll take your clean and simple approach any day.
How do you stand your booth up? I am creating one with a similar structure (completely different design) but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to anchor it in the back.
